Even though he is not mentioned in the <em>Geraardsbergen Manuscript<\/em>, there may have been a connection between him and this codex: Guillebert used to be the owner of an inn in Geraardsbergen mentioned in <a title=\"Geraardsbergen Manuscript: Text 69\" href=\"http:\/\/everycodextellsastory.eu\/?p=282\">Text 69<\/a>, the\u00a0<a title=\"Medieval inns and taverns\" href=\"http:\/\/everycodextellsastory.eu\/?p=348\">&#8216;In the French\u00a0shield&#8217;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to the manuscripts\u00a0Guillebert copied &#8211;\u00a0books meant for the dukes of Burgundy, lavishly illuminated\u00a0&#8211; \u00a0the <em>Geraardsbergen Manuscript<\/em> looks very modest.<\/p>\n<p>It has been argued that Guillebert may have been involved in the production of the <em>Geraardsbergen Manuscript<\/em> (see Story 2), but that seems unlikely. The presence of Dutch, French and Latin texts seems to fit his profile, but since there are no archival records about him anymore after 1460 the chances he copied this manuscript in the 1460&#8217;s are small.
